Bear McKay – Founder & Director, Teacher
Bear’s approach to practicing and teaching energy healing utilizes a wide range of resources and is simple, powerful, and effective. People touched by Bear’s healing asked to learn more, which inspired her to start teaching in 2000. Eventually she developed the method and curriculum now known as The McKay Method® School of energy healing. Bear teaches the Advanced and Graduate level classes, and some of the Foundation classes.
Bear works with physical illness, psychological and emotional patterns, and spiritual issues. She works mainly with people but has extended these basic principles of healing to land, animals, plants and energy beings with great success. She is a talented and gifted teacher who makes hands-on-healing accessible. She believes anyone can develop their healing skills and intuition to apply these techniques successfully.
Bear has studied, practiced, and taught energy healing for over 15 years and graduated from the School for Enlightenment and Healing. Her lineage of teachers includes Inuit Healer Della Keats, Shelby Hammit, Emilie Conrad, Michael Mamas, Byron Katie, Barbara Brennan, Rosalyn Bruyere, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. She is greatly influenced by the Zen Buddhist tradition of Shunru Suzuki Roshi, Hinduism, and other Eastern religious teachings and gurus, and considers herself omnireligious.
Bear was a filmmaker and formerly resided in Chicago and San Francisco. She currently lives in Bozeman, Montana and has two daughters.
